First off FUN! Our coaches are very knowledgeable, safe and know that having fun makes you a better athlete. We predict 40 to 50 athletes for the 2024 season. Our season starts late February and ends in June. If you compete at the Nationals then mid July. Practices are every Thursday ay Madison Square Sportsman's Club (See Team Calendar for dates and times.) Competitions are on weekends and require travelling to different clubs to compete (See Team Calendar for dates, times and locations.) Parents are welcome as spectators at practice and competitions. You will learn Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays discipline's, learn firearms safety, make friends and spend quality time outdoors. Reach out to Coach Tim and he can fill you in even more.
Team dues- Paid for by selling (10) calendar raffle tickets at $100 each. You can choose to sell all of them or pay and keep some for yourself. Team dues cover all practice fees, competiton fees and clay targets used. All coaches and committee members are 100% volunteer.
Shotgun- You can get a lower end shotgun for around $500 and it goes up from there. Any of our coaches can help you determine what the best gun is in your price range. Having your shotgun fit to you is the most important thing and any of our coaches can help you with that as well.
Shells- Everyone will use between 10 and 12 cases of shells per season. That covers practice, and all in state competitions. If you participate at Nationals in Ohio you will need extra shells. If you want to practice more, outside the team practice you will also need more shells. We have (500) cases available (250 shells per case) for a donation of $80 per case (cash or check) and $83 per case (CC.)
Food- At every competition, Ed and Dave's Auto Service graciously sponsors and cooks up amazing food at every meet for everyone, parents included! No cost but donations are appreciated.
